About Daniel
Daniel was raised in southern NSW and has lived and breathed horses from a young age. Daniel’s passion led him to pursue a Bachelor of Applied Science (Equine Studies).
After attending a Steve Byrne colt starting clinic, Daniel’s talents were recognised and he was offered the opportunity to work and train fulltime with Steve. The combination of this experience and Daniel’s lifelong commitment to horses, culminated in him winning the Snaffle Bit Futurity in 2012. Following his lifelong dreams, he moved to Canada to become a professional cowboy.
Upon returning to Australia in 2014, Daniel commenced his colt starting operation in its current location in Uralla NSW. Now known in his own right for his professional and practical approach, Daniel attracts professional and recreational clients locally and from as far afield as Sydney, Brisbane, and even Melbourne.
Daniel’s starting success is direct result of his modest, down to earth approach.
About Althea
Originally from London, Althea (aka Alfie) learned her riding skills on the beaches and hills of Taranaki after emigrating to New Zealand. After moving to Australia, Alfie worked as professional guide for a large trail riding company.
Following a confidence shattering riding accident in 2003, Alfie was forced to rebuild her philosophical and technical approach to riding. This resulted in advancement beyond her previous capabilities, reaching level 4 in the Parelli system. Alfie’s dedication to building her knowledge and technique has enabled her to compete regularly and successfully in both Western and English disciplines.
Alfie’s friendly and empathetic approach has helped many riders develop confidence and purpose with their horse and their riding.
